Timeline, Goals, Contributions, Needs and more

Welcome to the full update post where we'll keep all the little progress reports and improvements all in one place. Thanks to the support of a lot of people, we've been able to move forward rather quickly!

(Stage Whisper) Magazine will be a PDF-format magazine at least 20 pages in lenth. It will look like a full-color print magazine (with the hope that someday we might be able to transition into print), and we'll have Kindle and Nook options available as well. Further down in this post you'll find additional details about magazine content and how to contribute.

Already in place:
In the works:
  • Website
  • Magazine layout
  • Writing and editorial staff
  • Promotional brochures
  • DFW Theatre directory
  • Issue content plan through Dec 2015

First issue launch date: May 27, 2015 (for June issue).
Subsequent issues will release on the 27th of each month for the following month.

Contribution/ad deadline for first issue is May 20, 2015 (for June issue).
Contributions and ads for subsequent months will be needed by the 20th of each month for the next issue

Each month the magazine will include:
  • Feature articles
  • Script and theatre-related book reviews
  • Regional theatre news
  • Spotlight articles on theatres, directors, designers, actors, musicians
  • Tricks of the Trade (prop tricks, costume, makeup)
  • Editorials
  • Theatre directory with clickable links to websites
  • "Now Playing" page with shows for that month
  • Editors' Must See picks
  • Theatre resources
  • Advertising
  • Much more
How to contribute:
We are looking for contributors! We need writers, proofreaders, marketing help, etc. The caveat at the moment is that we cannot pay you... YET. However, the idea is that advertising funds will enable us to pay a nominal rate for accepted articles.

If you have any questions or ideas, please use the form in the right column of this blog, or message Stacey Greenawalt on Facebook.
